A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after a man was left with serious injuries after being in collision with a car in Newport on Monday night.
The man, 70, is from Newport and has been released on police bail until February 3, 2015, the police revealed today.
The incident occurred at 5.39pm on Aberthaw Road with the junction of Lliswerry Road. The police, fire, and ambulance services all attended.
The incident involved a male pedestrian, aged 53, and a gold-coloured Vauxhall Astra. The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital Wales, Cardiff, for treatment. He remains in hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.
The driver of the car was not injured.
