NEWPORT based Indie rock band Ampersand will be hosting a extra terrestrial Christmas party this Saturday in aid of a local charity.

The ‘spaced out ‘ Christmas party is being held at Le Pub, in Newport on December 13 is a benefit gig for Action for Children Fostering Wales, a national charity that provides homes for fostered children. The charity based in Beechwood Park, Newport, are raising money to refit one of their rooms into a state of the art therapeutic space for children who have experienced neglect and abuse and will be used to provide a safe nurturing play environment for fostered children and their carer’s.

Matt Lewis, the children's placement manager for the service and guitarist in the ban, said: “We are hoping for a great turn out for the gig the proceeds of which will go directly to help fostered children in South Wales”.

The doors open at 8pm and tickets are available on the door - £4 or £3 if in fancy dress . The first 50 party goers each receive a free packet of ‘space dust’ and get to smell, see and hear ‘space’ through the senses.
