DRIVERS are being warned that there could be severe traffic delays on Osbourne Road in Pontypool for four weeks from Monday 5 January.

Construction works start on 5 January to upgrade the light controlled crossing on Osborne Road next to the junction with Merchant’s Hill. This work involves the widening of the central staggered pedestrian island and new kerbing on either side of the road and is expected to take four weeks.

During building work, the road will be reduced to one lane with single alternate lane traffic under temporary traffic signal control. The traffic management will be monitored to ensure it is operating as efficiently as possible; however, severe disruption to traffic is anticipated.

The bus stops within the road works will be temporarily closed for the duration of the works.

Passengers are asked to use St Lukes Rd stops at Pentrepiod/Hanbury Road junctions.
