EBBW Vale artist and anti-bullying ambassador Nathan Wyburn has caused a stir with his latest artwork which aims to tackle the perception of body image.

Food artist Mr Wyburn has branched out from his popular food portraits, creating a 10 foot tall Photoshop collage of popstar Justin Bieber as he poses in his underwear for the latest Calvin Klein campaign.

Following backlash against the star’s supposedly edited image, Mr Wyburn decided to create a digital collage comprising of images of female celebrities who have been targeted for the way they look.

“The image is made up of several female celebrities before and after ‘air brushed’ and embarrassing ‘circle of shame’ images from magazines such as Heat,” he said.

“Justin’s image is allegedly Photoshopped to enhance his muscles and private parts, highlighting that body image is a problem for men as well as women.

“The ideology that men should have a perfect muscular physique is just as pressurising for young boys as the catwalk model thin physique is for young girls.

“Yet I still don’t feel it’s taken as seriously. “

The billboard sized art work stands at 10 feet tall and seven feet wide to replicate the size of the advert in its original form.

The artwork took Mr Wyburn just six hours to make in one day and features images of celebrities from a range of ages before they have been altered and images of them afterwards such as Madonna, Britney, Megan Fox and Lindsay Lohan.

Stars such as Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Jennifer Hudson and Felicity Huffman also feature in the circle of shame images targeting them for imperfect body parts.

The art work has been a huge hit on social media attracting 300 likes in one day and many positive comments.

Mr Wyburn, ambassador for anti-bullying charity BulliesOut, hopes the work will send a powerful message.
