FOOTBALL legend Thierry Henry was in Newport earlier this week to deliver some coaching tips to the Wales under 15 squad.

The former Arsenal star was at Dragon Park to chat with the youngsters and give them some pointers on the beautiful game on Monday.

Football Association of Wales technical director Osian Roberts tweeted a picture of himself with the Frenchman and said: “It was a pleasure to welcome @ThierryHenry to @FAWales U15 camp today @DragonParkNFDC”

In other pictures he can be seen instructing the room full of hopefuls using a virtual football pitch.

Henry’s appearance at the state-of-the-art development centre – and past talk from the star about a possible move into management in the future – has prompted rumours that the former Gunners striker could take part in the highly-rated Football Association of Wales coach education scheme at Dragon Park.

The course has been used by the likes of Everton manager Roberto Martinez, and former players Marcel Desailly, David Ginola, and Sol Campbell.

It is thought Henry will study for his UEFA B licence, despite a recent move into punditry with Sky Sports, before undertaking his A licence in the summer.

The 37-year-old officially hung up his playing boots last month after the end of his MLS contract with New York Red Bulls.
