BRITISH supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley surprised staff and shoppers in Newport by visiting the city's Marks & Spencer store to launch her first perfume.

The model and actress visited the Newport Retail Park store yesterday to celebrate the launch of the Rosie for Autograph fragrance after the Newport store won a sales competition within the company.

Ms Huntington-Whiteley also has a lingerie range for M&S, Rosie for Autograph, and is known for her role in the Transformers film franchise.

Pradeep Patel, store manager at M&S Newport, said: "We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Rosie to our store, it has been a very exciting day for our staff and customers.

"Her lingerie collection has been a firm favourite since its launch and the success of the fragrance so far is testament to her popularity with M&S shoppers.”

Jo Jenkins, director of beauty and lingerie at Marks & Spencer, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to have worked with Rosie on the launch of her first fragrance.

"Our customers are huge fans of the Rosie for Autograph lingerie collaboration, and I am really excited to be able to bring such a gorgeous, sensual scent into our M&S beauty offer to complement this."
