A GWENT comprehensive school has switched a hotel for a school trip after parents read an internet review which said the building had exotic dancers in a bar underneath it.

Around 40 teenage pupils from Abertillery Comprehensive School were due to be staying at the Hotel Continental, Interlaken, next week while on a ski trip.

But a review by a member of the public on www.tripadvisor.com said: "The strip joint on the lower floor provided noisy music till 3am."

Parent governor Delwyn Davies, who has a 15-year-old son going on the trip, said: "I was very concerned about it. I would not have been happy if my son came back and told me that there was a strip joint."

Chairwoman of Governors Gill Clark said that as soon as the concerns were raised by parents, the school contacted the travel company and changed the hotel.

"The school acted in a prompt and appropriate manner. The situation has now been resolved," she said.
