SWFFRYD residents spoke of their shock after the death of the 33-year-old woman in the quarry crash today.
Mary Bowen, aged 74, of Kier Hardie Terrace, said: "It's a terrible tragedy and it's going to affect everyone. After the last accident up here, what did they do? The council just put up a wire fence and that was it.
"We need something a bit more than that and you would have thought that after last time they would have learnt their lesson."
Another resident, who did not want to be named, said: "It's a complete shock when it happens on your doorstep.
"This is the second crash off this road in the last couple of years.
"It needs a barrier up here, it's obviously really dangerous and people are getting killed."
POLICE and firefighters confirmed they are not looking for any other casualties after the crash.
