A NURSERY in Torfaen was described as good by education inspectors.
Estyn said that Two Locks Nursery provided a well-balanced and effective education, and had made good progress since the last inspection.
Councillor Colette Thomas, the nursery's chairman of governors, said: "I'm very pleased. They work extremely hard to ensure the children have a good start in life."
The report rated children's creative skills at grade 1 (good with outstanding features), saying they use a wide range of media and techniques very well.
Children's behaviour was also good, they said, and pupils showed very high levels of enthusiasm and interest in their work, enjoying school and developing healthy self-confidence and independence.
The inspectors said the quality of teaching had many outstanding features including a well developed understanding of how to plan and organise for children of nursery age. Teachers had close relationships with other staff and their helpers, and showed very positive and caring attitudes towards the children, added the report.
