For the first time ever the meeting of the Supper Club had to be cancelled on Saturday (February 10).
Numerous phone calls to the organiser, Alan Jones, during the heavy snowfalls of Friday, said that people were not able to get out onto the main roads.
Ever hopeful, Alan decided to wait till Saturday morning before making a final decision - but in the end Jane White, caterer for the evening, made the decision for us.
She was concerned for some of the older members and was reluctant to risk her own vehicle should the snow turn to ice.
It was a sensible decision to cancel. The next Supper Club will now probably be in April.
The church in Skenfrith is hosting the St David's Day Supper this year - on Saturday, March 3.
