A FUNDRAISER from Cwmbran says she is “disgusted” after thieves stole hundreds of pounds worth of charity goods and electronics from her car.

Linda Davies, of Laurel Green in Upper Cwmbran, was on her way to work this morning at around 8am when she saw her Ford Ka had been broken into overnight while parked on the residential street.

It had at least £500 worth of personal belongings and charity products inside including merchandise donated to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales, where Ms Davies works as a senior fundraising officer.

The 59-year-old said: “I think it’s absolutely disgusting.

“There was at least £500 pounds worth of merchandise there – the Easter eggs that had been donated, three pull-up stands for the charity, a petty cash tin in the boot, and all the flyers.

“They stole everything – my Sat Nav, my phone charger.

“The door had been prized open with a metal object and the window had been put down. It has to be assessed now to see if it’s a write-off.”

Noah’s Ark charity, based in Cardiff, is the only charity exclusively fundraising for the Children’s Hospital for Wales. Ms Davies was on her way to a fundraising event this morning, but could not get to work because she had no transport following the break-in.

“I’m really upset,” she added. “I just want someone to see this and be ashamed of what they have done and to a charity as well.”

Ms Davies said her husband came home from work at around 10.30pm on Tuesday and it seemed nothing had been stolen from the car at that point.

Gwent Police are investigating. A spokeswoman for the force said the incident was reported at 8.26am on Wednesday, April 1.

If anyone has information about the incident they are asked to call 101 quoting 65 1/4/15.
