ROBBERS stole a delivery van containing 700 loaves of bread this morning.

The driver was doing a delivery in Blackett Avenue, Malpas, when the three men walked out in front of his van, police said.

One man carried an object similar to a handgun and demanded that the driver give him the van, a police spokesman said.

A police spokesman said: “There haven’t been any other incidents like this in the area, police patrols have increased and anyone with any concerns is encouraged to contact their local officers.”

The robbers are described as black and wore dark clothing.

The stolen vehicle is a white Luton-sized transit van and its registration number is KP62 LPX.
