The English Democrats were formed a little over 4 years ago when it became clear that devolution was not afforded to all of the UK.

We believe in democracy and the rights of the people to choose those who are supposed to represent them.

It is becoming clear that the main stream political parties are caring less about democracy and more about safeguarding there career paths.

Party politics are placed in front of the will of the people and representation is a thing of the past.

I first became aware of the situation in Monmouthshire just one year ago, however this does not defer from the fact that democracy was not served.

On the say so of a practically deserted house of commons at five minutes to midnight back in 1974 it was decided to move Monmouthshire from England to Wales.

As far as my research has shown, no consultation with the public was sort prior to the event.

After the legislation had been passed very little information was forthcoming, some of the people I have spoken to were not even aware that this change had occurred until years later.

Thirty odd years later this is not about whether you feel yourselves to be English or whether you wish to be Welsh, the question is "should you have been asked"?

The English Democrats are standing up for democracy and for the will of the people. Don't let Politians decide what is best for you, let them know what is best for you.

The English Democrats are standing on a "Let Monmouthshire Decide" policy, the only party willing to ask the people their opinion. Use your vote wisely and vote for democracy, anything else is a wasted vote.
