THE fire brigade were called out to rescue two dogs in sticky situations yesterday.

Earlier in the day, a German Shepherd dog stuck on a first floor window ledge had to be rescued by firefighters. Neighbours took care of the frightened dog after it became stuck on the ledge on Queen Street in Nantyglo at 12.09pm.

Then late last night at around 2am an injured dog got stuck in a fence on Sycamore Avenue in Newport.

A crew from Maindee arrived at the scene but happily found the dog had already been released and taken to the vets.

A fire crew from Brynmawr came to the aid of the German Shepherd.
