STAFF at Pill Pharmacy said they felt 'inspired' after a visit from Welsh health and social services minister Mark Drakeford today.

Mr Drakeford AM visited the pharmacy to look at its role in helping people look after their health and minor illnesses.

Mr Drakeford had a look around at the pharmacy and the consulting rooms.

He said: “Community pharmacies play a valuable role in helping people look after their own health and manage minor illnesses.

“Pill Pharmacy is an excellent example of the wide range of services pharmacists are able to offer on our high streets in the heart of local communities.

"It was a pleasure to learn more about the work the team is doing in the community."

Jayne Bryant, Labour assembly candidate for Newport West, said Pill Pharmacy is a "fine example".

She said: “It is in the heart of the community of Pill and offers a great range of services.

“Open earlier this year, the pharmacy has gone from strength to strength.”

Pharmacy owner Asim Ali said: “It was informative to actually get a chance to meet him. I think everybody was very inspired.”
