FIRE service crews were called after refuse was deliberately set alight in Newport on Friday night.
Crews from Malpas attended the scene on Bailey Street, Baneswell, at 11.57pm.
Firefighters used hosereel jets to tackle the blaze.
The refuse had been set on fire close to a building.
