A PONTHIR nursery celebrating 10 years of being in business welcomed back five of its first ever toddlers as part of the celebrations.

Seren Fach nursery, on Caerleon Road, Newport, hosted games and entertainment on Wednesday to celebrate its 10 year anniversary.

Five of the nursery’s first ever toddlers, now all aged 10 and 11, returned to the nursery.

Becky Bennett, deputy manager at the nursery, said: “It was lovely, wonderful to see how it’s grown over the 10 years and a big thank you to the staff and the families who have supported us over that time.

“It was lovely to see the babies who first came to the nursery come back too.”

The five children who returned all now go to school either at Charles Williams Church in Wales primary school, Caerleon Comprehensive or Ponthir Church School.

Two of the staff also celebrated being at the nursery since it opened while one staff member, Linda James, was with Seren Fach from its beginning 15 years ago when it started life as an after school club.

On Wednesday an entertainer came in for the nursery children and afterwards there was a party. All the children received gifts.
