Pontypool-based travel agent Jetaways has expanded into new premises in the town centre.

The independent travel agent has moved from its former home in Commercial Street into a bigger office on Osborne Road.

The business has been based in Pontypool for the past five years and owner Kelly Dommett has no plans to leave the town or her loyal customers.

She said: “We have been based in the town centre for five years now and simply grew too big for our old office. We are now based in a much better location, with a more visible presence on the high-street, and we are already getting many new faces through the door as a result.”

Ms Dommett, who has more than 20 years experience in the travel industry, now plans to focus on expanding her team and is currently recruiting for an additional agent.

She said: “Pontypool has been a fantastic place to run a business and we have a firm base of loyal customers who enjoy the personal, face to face, service we can offer. Many people find the process of booking a holiday stressful and we are here to take that stress away.”

Councillor Lewis Jones, executive member for regeneration, said: “It is fantastic to see a business not only surviving but thriving in Pontypool town centre. Kelly and her team do a fantastic job offering a face to face service in a market that is dominated by internet sales, and should be commended their entrepreneurial spirit.”
