A MONMOUTH organisation has sent its third container full of food and clothes to help refugees in Syria.

The container was loaded with non-perishable food, toiletries, hygiene products, medical aid, bedding and clothes- all the things needed to help those displaced by conflict to maintain normal life.

Once again donations came from all over Gwent, the south west, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire as people across the region, touched by the plight of Syrian refugees, have come together to help.

iNEED, a not for profit organisation sent a 40ft container just two weeks ago filled with 20 tonnes of clothing and food. They filled another 40ft container on Friday at the Monmouthshire Housing Association's site in Mamhilad, Pontypool.

iNEED co-founder, Natasha Cadman, 33, said: "Once again we had great support and couldn't have achieved so much without it. We would like to thank Michelle Smith from Monmouthshire Housing Association for her support and for offering us the unit in Mamhilad to gather together donations.

"We had support from groups and active individuals in Monmouth, Newport, Cardiff, Machen, Chepstow, Caldicot Ledbury and Taunton. Thanks to them we will be sending 350 more food parcels to One Nation to add to a container they are sending."

She added: "I would like to thank everyone that has helped ahead of time and on the day. As it was over the school holidays, we had help from girls as young as eight. We were so very pleased with their energy and enthusiasms on the day: they are our future."

iNEED would like to hear from supermarkets, chemists, manufacturers and food producers across the region who are able to donate products to help refugees here and in Syria.
