FRIENDS of a man who died in a car accident on the A467 in Rogerstone are holding an event tomorrow night to raise money for his son’s trust fund.
Alex Chamberlain, 26, from Argoed, died on May 16 this year after a crash involving his Vauxhall Combo van and two more vehicles, a Scania 40 tonne heavy good vehicle and a Scania Tipper lorry.
He was taken to the University Hospital of Wales but died shortly afterwards.
Mr Chamberlain had an eight-year-old son, Ethan, and his friends are now raising money for his trust fund.
“Alex set up the fund to give Ethan the future he knew he deserved,” said Scott Morgan, Mr Chamberlain’s best friend and Ethan’s godfather.
“He would have filled it up himself, but he can’t do it anymore – so we’ll do it for him.
“As I’m like an uncle to Ethan, this is something I want to do for him.
“He’s a nice kid and deserves it.”
The fundraising event will take place tomorrow night at 7pm in the Ynysddu Progressive Club. There will be a karaoke and disco as well as raffle, with prizes including driving lessons and Gwent Dragons rugby tickets.
All proceeds from event will be deposited into Ethan’s trust fund.
