EMILY Clark’s family and team of dedicated fund raisers named the Celtic Manor event at the weekend the Remission Possible Legacy Ball.

And how apt that turned out to be. For what a legacy they are creating.

Emily was just 18 when she died after battling a rare form of blood cancer.

But before her life was cut so tragically short, this teenager had become an inspiration to so many people, with her determination and through her articulate writing on her Remission Possible blog.

Mum Donna Dunn vowed to raise money to go towards the creation of a specialist bone-marrow transplant unit at Cardiff.

And within just six months the fund has collected a quite staggering £54,000. That is way above the original target for the year.

This is quite some achievement and we pay tribute to Emily’s family and all of those involved.

The hundreds of people who attended the latest event at the weekend can no doubt testify to their fund raising philosophy.

Put simply, they believe in putting the fun into fund raising and want people to enjoy themselves on a glamorous night out while raising money in Emily’s name. What a fantastic tribute.
