Crash leads to Newtown Bridge closure in Ebbw Vale

The bridge has now re-opened.

A Gwent Police spokeswoman said: "We received a call at 7.35am reporting concerns about the welfare of a man stood on Newtown Bridge in Ebbw Vale.
"Officers attended and the man has been brought to safety."
UPDATE 11.40am
Reports say that there are two fire engines at the scene and that police are diverting traffic, which is causing congestion.
8.40am
NEWTOWN Bridge in Ebbw Vale is closed due to a police incident.
It's busy but moving in both directions in the A4046 junction with Pant-Y-Fforest. Police are directing traffic.
There is also slow traffic on the Steel Works Road near the Crescent.
