THE Savoy Theatre in Monmouth is once again delighted to bring Monmouthshire’s only static professional pantomime. Now in its seventh year, this traditional old theatre brings magic to life with good old fashioned family entertainment.

This year the sparkle of Sleeping Beauty will be lighting up those dark evenings, with good fairies and evil warlocks. Will Sleeping Beauty find true loves kiss before a wicked spell brings the kingdom down, under the power of the evil Lord Arachno? Will Nanny Wink ever find Sleeping Beauty? Who is Flash? Is time running out for the Kingdom? Will Fairy Quality earn back her wings after being turned into a Pokemon? – yes you heard right – a Pokemon!

Producer and writer Sam Densham said: “It was a tough call at auditions, we thought trying to choose our actress, local girl Sarah Hancock to play Sleeping Beauty was tough (with 80 applicants), but the Pokemons who turned up to audition blew us away. We finally made a decision, and you may have seen him about town in Monmouth taking selfies.”

The Savoy Theatre is one of the oldest entertainment venues in Wales and keeps audiences mesmerised from the moment they enter the auditorium, you won’t experience live theatre at these prices in such a magical place anywhere else this Christmas. If you only get one Christmas treat, we have it all – atmosphere, popcorn, a bar, hilarity, the most amazing professional cast, including Robert Traynor – who was working in the West End in the musical The Go Between starring Michael Crawford.

The show is taking place with school shows from December 12 to December 16 and family shows from December 30 to January 4. To book tickets contact the box office on 01600 772467.
