CHRISTMAS presents which had been purchased from fundraising have been stolen from a cricket club in Pontypool.

Gwent Police are appealing for information following a break in at Pontnewynydd Cricket Club on Pentwyn Road, Pontypool.

The club was broken into at around 1.40am on Tuesday, December 6.

A number of wrapped Christmas presents intended for local children that had been paid for as a result of fundraising throughout the year were stolen.

A window was also smashed along with security lighting, and CCTV cameras were vandalised.

Officers are carrying out enquiries.
