There is congestion to J28 Tredegar Park, with queuing traffic for 11 miles on M4 eastbound.
UPDATE 6.55am
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said that the crash involved three vehicles and that no injuries were reported.
She said that the lane has now re-opened.
However, there is congetion to J25a Newport, with queuing traffic for seven miles.
6.40am
A CRASH on the M4 is causing slow traffic eastbound at J23a Magor services.
One lane is closed.
