THE heartbroken owner of a stolen dog which has been missing for three months is offering a £1000 reward for information.

Sherbert, a toy poodle cross bichon frise, was stolen from a garden on October 14, while Tricia Scott and family were not home.

Mrs Scott, of Beechwood, Newport, said that her husband first noticed the dog had disappeared at about 1.40pm, after returning home from work.

She said: “He is a small dog and he has a cat flap so he can go in and out of the house when we’re at work.

“He can’t physically get out of the garden because he’s so small.”

Mrs Scott has now spoken of how the disappearance of Sherbert has caused the family great upset and stress.

Mrs Scott, who has had Sherbert for two years, said the theft had been particularly tough on her children Finley, 6, and Billy, 3.

She said: “My sons, Finley and Billy, are very upset at Sherbert’s disappearance. They were very close to him.

“It’s very difficult for them because all they want is to be back with their Sherbert.”

The family has now decided to offer a £1000 reward for anyone who can supply

“I’m praying this works,” said Mrs Scott, “all we want is for our precious Sherbert to come home.

“It’s £1000 because it is a lot of money so I just hope someone with come forward. I think the worst for us is not knowing how he is.”

Despite receiving possible leads to the dog’s whereabouts, none have proved fruitful.

“We have had leads but they weren’t successful,” said Mrs Scott. “We’ve opened a Facebook page so anyone with information please do get in touch.

The £1000 reward will be given for information which leads to a successful conviction.

Anyone with information on Sherbert’s whereabouts is asked to call Jayne at Doglost on 01633 668364 and Gwent Police on 101 quoting log number 439 14/10/16.
