FOUR people have appeared in court accused of murder following the death of a 41-year-old man, who was found unconscious on Keene Street last week.
Richard Wallis, 43, of Keene Street and 18-year-olds Callum Banton and Shaquille Crosdale, both of Fleetwood Close, appeared via a video link at Cardiff Crown Court for the hearing.
A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named, was present in court, although none of the individuals have entered a plea at this stage.
The four have been charged with the murder of Jan Jedrzejewski, who died at the Royal Gwent Hospital after he was found unresponsive at around 11pm close to Cromwell Road on Thursday, January 12.
He died the following day.
All of the accused have been remanded in custody and judge Eleri Rees has set a preliminary trial date of Monday, July 10.
