Gwent Police have confirmed that the 15-year-old girl is now in a stable condition.

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Services said the victim was teenage girl and that she is in a "serious condition".
She was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
The spokesman confirmed they were called at around 4.30pm.

Kayleigh Williams, an eyewitness, said: "I saw the ambulances arrive.
"I just hope the person is OK."

Paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service remain at the scene.
Specialist collision investigators remain at the scene.
A spokeswoman for Gwent Police said a female pedestrian has been taken to Uuiversity Hospital of Wales following the collision.

The crash is causing major delays between M4 J26 at Malpas and Pillmawr Road (Malpas Shops), congestion on Malpas Road to A4042 / B4591 Shaftsbury Street / Lyne Road / Queen's Hill (Harlequin Roundabout), on Eastbound M4 to J29 A48(M) and on Eastbound A48(M) to J29a A48 Eastern Avenue (St Mellons).

Paramedics are currently treating the pedestrian at the scene. The crash involved a Volkswagon Passat and female pedestrian, near Tesco Express store.

A PEDESTRIAN has been involved in a crash on Malpas Road
Malpas Road has been closed and there is queuing traffic northbound near Malpas shops.
There is congestion on Malpas Road and on Eastbound M4 to J29 A48(M).
A diversion has been put into place.
People are slowing due to the accident on the opposite carriageway on A4051 Malpas Road southbound in Cwmbran, between Woodlands Roundabout and Malpas shops.
