A BUNGALOW on fire in St Julian's, Newport, was battled by firefighters for two and a half hours.
Firefighters from Malpas, Maindee, Cwmbran, Duffryn, Barry and Pontypridd were called to the blaze on Caerleon Road at 11.43pm last night.
A spokeswoman for South Wales Fire and Rescue said: "Crews fought the fire for over 2.5 hours using jets. The fire damaged an unoccupied bungalow, believed [to be] deliberately started.
"Crews will re-inspect the site this morning."
