The online survey, which was carried out on newspaper and publisher websites as well as the Google app and was participated in by 9,741 people across the UK, also showed 51 per cent said Brexit will be a factor in how they vote on June 8.

It also showed greater support for Labour among younger respondents in Wales, with 47 per cent of those aged 18 to 24 saying they would vote for the party, while 43 per cent of those aged 65 and up said they would back the Conservatives.

More than half of respondents in Wales also agreed Theresa May would be a better Brexit negotiator than Jeremy Corbyn, with 51 per cent saying they think she would do the best job.
