CASUALTY has been filming for up-coming episodes in Newport.
The popular medical drama, which is shown on Saturdays, started filming in Ridgeway Drive, on Monday.
Rob Jones, 34, who is a fan of the series, said today: “They were here Monday and there were lots of ambulances all over the road.
“I saw parts of a car on the side of the road.
“I watched for a while then left.”
Luke O’Connor, whose family lives on Ridgeway Drive, said he is “excited” about the potential for the city.
“To see Newport on TV will be amazing,” said the 18-year-old.
Another Newport resident, Sally Lucas, 43, added: “Casualty has filmed episodes in Newport lots of times.
“My partner lives at the top of Ridgeway Drive and we saw them on Monday.
“I took loads of pictures.
“It’s exciting that a drama has been filmed here.”
Casualty is the world’s longest-running medical drama and has broadcasted more than 1,000 episodes since 1986.
