A DELIBERATELY started rubbish fire at a former car supermarket site in Newport was extinguished by a city crew on Sunday evening.
The crew from Maindee were called to the Carcraft site, also known as Robert Price Transport, close to the Southern Distributor Road on May 21.
A spokeswoman for the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said that the fire was a “controlled burn” at the sight, where rubbish had been lit on a bonfire.
She added that the firefighters arrived at just before 9.45pm and left the scene at 9.55pm.
