THE AM for Newport East has quizzed the first minister on integrated transport in South Wales.
John Griffiths, who has been AM since 1999, asked Carwyn Jones for a response on the creation of new cycling routes in the city. Mr Griffiths asked for confirmation from the first minister regarding new cycling routes and about the Welsh Government strategy for integrated transport in the area.
He said: “If we are to get more people out of their cars and on to public transport we must ensure safe cycle routes link with train and bus stations to integrate our transport system. We must make it as easy and convenient as possible to achieve the health and environmental benefits.”
The first minister replied that it is important to build off road cycle routes to provide necessary safety.
