A WORKER at the Llanwern steel plant has been named one of the most promising employees in the UK's manufacturing sector.
Sarah Passmore, who works as an account manager for Tata Steel, has been named a Rising Star as part of a scheme by magazine Autocar and the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders working to increase the profile of women in industry.
She was recognised for her dedication to the automotive industry.
She said: "I’m very proud to have been recognised in this way and it’s great for the automotive supply chain and Tata Steel’s role as part of it to be acknowledged too.
"It’s really important we encourage a greater number of talented young women into the industry at all levels, from the manufacture and supply of materials and parts right through to testing and selling the end products. Initiatives such as this do a great job of showing how diverse the industry is, proving there are opportunities for people of all skill sets."
