A BID to bring the Coca-Cola Christmas truck to Ebbw Vale has been launched by a town community group.
Every year, the famous red lorry tours the UK in the lead-up to Christmas, visiting towns and cities on its route.
The Ebbw Vale Christmas Lights Appeal Committee is aiming to attract the truck in time for the Christmas Lights switch-on event on Saturday, November 25.
A spokesman for the committee said: “Coca Cola GB will make their decision on whether to visit Ebbw Vale based on logical factors.
“We are determined that we will give them a clear reason to choose Ebbw Vale over the competition.”
The group hopes to raise £15,000 by the end of August by launching “The Penny Challenge”.
“If everyone who regularly works, studies, shops or visits Ebbw Vale paid in a one-off donation of £1.04 - the equivalent of 2p a week - we would reach the £15,000,” he added.
