JUST under 2,000 youngsters turned out for this year's Youth Summer Festival.
The arts and music festival, which was held today at Tredegar House, saw a whole range of different singers perform to youngsters.
Some of the acts included Tobias Robertson and Alicia Scott.
Fez Miah, who works for Urban Circle Production which organised the event, said the day had been "fun".
He said: "A lot of effort had been put into making the Youth Summer Festival a success.
"There's been a lot of youngsters come to the venue to enjoy the music.
"Considering we've had awful weather the turnout is pretty good."
Finn Fry, 19, said it was "great" that the festival is being held in Newport.
He said: "It's great a festival is so near to where we live.
"Usually we go away to watch singers but this is right on our door step."
