WE REALISE it is only a tiny minority of people causing problems with their anti-social behaviour, but they do have the knack of causing disproportionate disruption.

Whether it is the yobs throwing rocks at Newport buses or taxis or whether it is vandals ripping apart a community-group funded defibrillator, they have one thing in common.

And that is that in the one moment of bad behaviour for them they cause disruption for many more people.

Newport Bus was forced to temporarily suspend services after three vehicles were hit by missiles thrown by youths.

Luckily, nobody was hurt but we can fully understand why the company had to take the action it did. It is not a huge leap to see how dangerous this is for the drivers and for passengers.

Taxi drivers likewise can be forgiven for saying they will not visit area where their cars have come under attack.

Unfortunately though, it is the majority of law-abiding citizens who are at risk of losing a service they may well rely on.

And that is why anti-social behaviour while not perhaps at the most serious end of the crime spectrum remains one of the most annoying.
