NEWPORT City Homes has revealed its second major regeneration scheme in months.
This represents a major investment in housing in the city.
Newport has seen many major housing developments in recent years with the riverside in particular totally transformed by new developments of apartments and houses.
But the focus of Newport City Homes is very clear, and that is on improving existing housing developments, those which have been here for many years.
In Pill, work has already started on a £multi-million scheme to transform the infrastructure of the area, ridding it of narrow alleys which can so often become magnets for those intent on anti-social behaviour.
Now it is Rin gland’s turn, where there is as much emphasis on improving the shopping centre as on building new family homes.
What is notable is the level of public engagement involved.
Ringland residents are at the very heart of the discussions about the scheme. Their views are being taken into account. And, in our view, this represents best practice and Newport City Homes are to be commended.
