AROUND £,1000 was raised at a family fun day in support of William’s Syndrome on Saturday.
The event at CRAI Activity Park, in Maes-Y-Haf Lane, Newbridge was organised by Sarah Bennett-Evans and Scott Evans - the parents of four-year-old Harrison.
Harrison was diagnosed with Williams Syndrome at the age of one. This means he has developmental difficulties, a heart condition and various other medical, sensory and sociability issues.
The event was held to raise awareness and money for the Williams Syndrome Foundation.
And visitors to the park could enjoy stalls featuring handmade products, food and other items. There was also music and dance - including a performance Appalachian dance group.
Mrs Bennett-Evans said: “My ongoing and ever demanding aim is to make people more aware of this condition and to help fund more research into it so Harri and others like him can be accepted by society.”
