A NEW cafe selling homemade food has opened in Newport city centre.
Lillie’s Cafe and Sandwich Bar, in Skinner Street, sells a variety of drinks and food.
Owner Rebecca Phillips, who has 20 years’ experience in catering, said: “I want to try and promote it as a friendly café with home-cooked food. Everyone who comes to try it loves it.
“It is spacious, nice and bright.”
Ms Phillips, 45, said the cafe offers food such as cooked breakfasts, paninis and jacket potatoes.
They also have healthy options, which are all homemade, such as chili, Bolognese, curry or lasagne, she added. The cafe also offers vegan options.
“This is our sixth week, we opened on July 10,” she added.“It is hard work and daunting, but really good.”
Ms Phillips said this is her first business and that they have been given a four in the latest hygiene rating. To find out more, visit facebook.com/bexchelle72
