MORE bikers have been spotted speeding across Newport pedestrian footbridge.
This is the fourth incident of bikers using the footbridge - with walkers having to dodge out of the way.
Residents in Millennium Walk in the city centre have called the issue a "frequent problem" and Gwent Police have called for an end to the “dangerous and selfish criminal act”.
Gwent Police sergeant Ian Roberts said “long-term solutions” may need to be considered though.
“This is an extremely dangerous activity and offenders will be prosecuted when they are identified,” he added. “If you know who these individuals are call us on 101.”
Residents have said that narrow bollards may be "the only" way forward to stop the bikers from accessing the footbridge.
But a spokeswoman from Newport City Council said “Unfortunately, any physical barrier that restricts access to a motorcycle will severely impact on legitimate access by wheelchairs, pushchairs and cyclists.”
