IT IS now more than two weeks since Scott Bessant was found severely injured lying in a lane in Abersychan,

The former rugby league player is today still in intensive care with what are being described as life-changing injuries.

The 34-year-old is stable but he is in a critical condition.

His family, while focusing all their energies on his recovery, are also desperate to find out what happened to the ex-Wales Dragonhearts full back.

Now a friend of the family has put up a £2,000 reward in the hope that this may be the trigger someone needs to come forward with information.

Gwent Police say their investigation is on-going but at the moment we seem no nearer finding out the truth of what happened in the hours after Mr Bessant left the Little Crown pub on Saturday August 12, in high spirits and full of life.

There is a long gap during which he cannot be accounted for. until he was discovered early the following morning with serious injuries.

We appeal to anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to please pass it on to the police. It could be the key to unlocking this mystery.
