A CHARITY single which aims to raise awareness for a little boy will officially be released at the end of next month.

Talk to Me is a song which was recorded by Welsh artists for Harri Evans, a four-year-old Newbridge boy with William’s Syndrome.

The song, which was written by song-writer Gavin Clifton, of Newbridge – along with local songwriters Dan Curtis and Laura Curtis – comes out on CD on pre-sale on October 19 and aims to raise awareness of the syndrome. All proceeds will also go to the William’s Syndrome Foundation.

The digital edition of the charity single will come out on December 1 – with an official launch party being held at Crumlin Rugby Club.

Mr Clifton said the release dates were decided by both himself and Harri’s mum Sarah Bennett-Evans.

He said: “I’m really excited now that both myself and Sarah have finally decided on a release date, because now the track has finally been finished we can get the wheels in motion and turn our attention onto promoting the single. This will hopefully start to raise more awareness about what we are actually releasing it for - to educate more people about Williams Syndrome, and highlight the fact that people with disabilities need to be accepted more as equal in today’s society.

“The physical CD’s are going to be put on pre-sale from October 19, where they will be going on sale at The Raise The Roof event which is being held in Liverpool. It’s an event that promotes the inclusion of people with all kinds of disabilities.”

Around eight music artists from across Wales got together to record the single at Shabbey Road Studios in Caerphilly on August 15 after Mr Clifton got in touch to ask them to contribute over Facebook.

Mr Clifton and Ms Bennett-Evans say the single aims to get people to “never judge a book by its cover” and to “encourage them to interact more and maybe befriend people with disabilities such as Williams syndrome”.

The single will be released under Mr Clifton’s company Clifton Music.
