A COLLEGE has opened a new cafe at its campus in Usk and started building work for a new learning centre.
Coleg Gwent, which currently has five campuses and a business training centre, is developing the Usk site to create permanent facilities for students.
The £2m learning centre due to open in August next year and funded by the college, will house a library, classrooms, offices.
Alex Anderson, head of estates development for Coleg Gwent, said: “Investing in these important spaces shows our commitment as a college to the development of our students.”
Welsh Government provided the college with £1.64m of funding to create a new café onsite.
After eight years, this building has now replaced an old Portakabin.
Education secretary, Kirsty Williams said: “Our investment in this new space will provide students and staff the best environment and facilities possible for them to learn and achieve their full potential.”
