A LUXURY train will be coming to Newport this autumn.
The Belmond Northern Belle, which will be visiting the city for round-trips and Christmas lunch, features polished brass, brocaded curtains and mosaic floors.
A spokeswoman for the company said: “Ceilings are hand-painted, too, with motifs that capture the spirit of the castle or country house after which each carriage is named.
“Behind the scenes are the chefs in the on-board kitchens who prepare exquisite meals in a narrow, moving space.”
The train will be coming to Newport on Friday, October 13, for a day excursion to Shrewsbury. The trip, which is £295 per adult, will include free time to explore Shrewsbury, fine dining and a delicious three-course brunch, amongst others. A Christmas lunch will be celebrated on Monday, December 4. At £250 per adult, it will feature a seven course lunch and welcome champagne reception.
