RAIL passengers using services that run through Severn Tunnel Junction are urged to check before they travel owing to overrunning engineering work which means a reduced service will run all day.
Network Rail engineers have been upgrading the track at the Severn Tunnel but have not been able to complete the work on time because of broken down machinery.
One line has been reopened but the other will remain closed until the work can be completed.
A Network Rail spokeswoman said: "We have been working on the line at Severn Tunnel Junction this weekend but have not been able to complete the work on time.
“We are able to open one line so some services can run and the remaining work will be carried out to a revised plan. I sincerely apologise to those affected and ask that passengers check before they travel."
Passengers can check before they travel at nationalrail.co.uk.
