Police appeal after woman said she is forced into a car and sexually assaulted
GWENT Police are appealing for information after a 29-year-old woman was forced into a car and sexually assaulted.
A spokeswoman for Gwent Police said: "At approximately 8.25pm yesterday (Tuesday, October 3), a 29-year-old woman was forced into the car of a man who was known to her outside of the Spar shop in Caerleon Road in Newport.
"She was driven to a nearby house where she was allegedly sexually assaulted.
"The woman is safe and is receiving specialist support."
Officers are particularly keen to speak to a lady who went into the Spar shop to ask staff to call the police, as they believe she could be a vital witness.
