GWENT Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses following an assault on a 15-year-old girl in Cwmbran.

The girl, who suffered minor injuries, was pulled by the hair and pushed into bushes after a man tried to snatch her bag.

The assault took place on a footpath near Ty Gwyn Road in Cwmbran at 4.55pm on Tuesday September 19.

The offender is believed to be approximately 18-years-old, around five feet eight tall and of slim build.

He was wearing a khaki coloured hoody with the hood up and dark coloured bottoms.

The man’s lower face was covered by a bandana and the rest of the face appeared pale in complexion.

Inquiries are still ongoing and there will continue to be an increase in police patrols in the area to reassure residents.
