CLASS A drugs were seized and arrests made after police executed two warrants in Newport this morning.

Homes in Alexandra Road and Devon Place were searched following concerns of illegal drug use and supply.

A quantity of class A drugs were seized in the search of both addresses.

At the property in Alexandra Road, a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug.

Following the search at Devon Place, a 24-year-old women and a 34-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug and money laundering.

All remain in police custody at this time.

A police spokeswoman added: "We’d like to encourage our communities to continue to work with us to tackle the supply of illegal drugs in our area by calling us in confidence on 101, 999 in an emergency or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
