A WOMAN has been flown to hospital following a crash between a black Land Rover and a lorry near Abergavenny.
Police were called to the scene on the A40 at 9.35am, with the road remaining closed between the A449 and the A4042 while recovery work continues.
The woman, the driver of the Land Rover, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff by air ambulance.
A spokesman from the Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We were called at shortly after 9.50am this morning to reports of a road traffic collision on the A40 westbound near Raglan.
"The Wales Air Ambulance and two paramedics in rapid response vehicles attended and one patient was airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales."
A Gwent Police spokesman said: "The extent of the woman's injuries are not known at this time."
